Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible consisting of the Old and New Testament (66 books), to be inspired by God and therefore without error in the original writings. We accept the Scriptures as our only authority in matters of faith and practice.

We believe there is one true God, who is infinitely perfect, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully with the affairs of people and that He hears and answers prayer.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death upon the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his personal return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower for godly living, equipping the believer for service and witness, and convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

Man was created in the image and likeness of God: he fell through disobedience, bringing upon himself both physical and spiritual death. All human beings are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Salvation – All people are sinners by nature and choice, falling short of God’s standard and breaking His commandments – and therefore are under God’s righteous judgment. At the cross, Jesus Christ died in our place as our substitute, absorbing God’s wrath that should have come upon us. Salvation is obtained by grace through faith in the Person and work of Christ alone and not by our good works. Those who repent of their sin and put their trust in Him are sealed by the Holy Spirit, receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world and make disciples, preaching the gospel to all nations. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Marriage is instituted by God. The only legitimate marriage sanctioned by God is the joining of one genetically born man and one genetically born woman in a single, exclusive union, as described in the Scriptures. We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage. Therefore, we perform marriages in accordance with the teachings of the Bible. This relationship between a husband and wife should parallel the relationship between Christ and the Church.

*The statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the foregoing Statement of Faith accurately represents the teachings of the Bible and, therefore, is binding upon all members.

Our Mission

Through Biblical teaching and preaching we will:

…exalt Jesus Christ our only hope of salvation (John 14:6) and be more Christ-like in everyday life (2 Cor. 3:18 ).

…edify (build up), and equip the people of God! (Eph. 4:11,12).

    …and evangelize the world.

The Great Commandment:

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' [This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Matthew 22:36-39

The Great Commission:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. Matthew 28:19-20
